Delhi Nursery admission process underway; key points
The application for admission to Delhi Nursery which started on December 15th is pending. Admission to Delhi Schools for the 2022-2023 school year has started for the Entrance Classes – Delhi Private Kindergarten, Kindergarten (KG) and Class 1 Private Schools. The deadline for submitting application forms for Delhi schools is January 21, 2022. The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) planned to publish the first list on February 4 and the admission process would end on March, 31st.
The DoE has ordered that the number of entry level seats not be less than the highest number of entry class seats in the past three years – 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22.
“Schools must develop and adopt admission criteria which must be fair, reasonable, well-defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous and transparent. No school should adopt a criterion abolished by the department, in particular by imposing capitation fees or donations. Kindergartens or Montessori schools run by registered companies or trusts as branches of recognized non-assisted schools will have to go through a single admission process for their kindergarten and main school considering them as a single institution ”, an official statement said.
Admission to entry level courses in Delhi schools: age criteria
For admission to preschool (crèche), pre-primary (KG) and class 1, the minimum age for admission is three years, four years and five years respectively on March 31, 2022. The instructions issued by the Delhi government are for open category admissions, other than the category seats of economically weaker sections, disadvantaged groups (EWS / DG) and children with special needs (CwSN).
Admission to Delhi School: Age Relaxation
The flexibility of the admission age up to 30 days may be granted at the level of the school head within the minimum and upper age limit for these classes. Parents can approach the school principal / principal to find out an age release through a manual application.
