Child Denied Admission to School Due to Unusual Name on Aadhaar Card | Education

The case arose on Saturday when Dinesh, a resident of Raipur village in Bilsi tehsil, went to primary school to get his daughter Aarti admitted.

A child was denied admission to a public school here because instead of her name, “Madhu ka Panchwa Baccha” and “Baby Five of Madhu” were written on the Aadhaar card, officials said on Monday.

The card also did not bear the Aadhaar number, they said.

The teacher asked Dinesh to have the Aadhaar card rectified.

District Magistrate Deepa Ranjan said, “Aadhaar cards are prepared at post offices and banks. The error occurred due to gross negligence. We will alert bank and post office officials and strict action will be taken against those involved in such negligence.

A photo of the Aadhaar card has gone viral on social media.
