Common admission tests for places in grades 10 and 12 in public schools in Delhi will be conducted at the district level on Monday and multiple choice quizzes will be provided by the Examinations Branch of the Directorate of Education.
Students who have completed class 9 or 11, as the case may be, are eligible for admission. The results will be announced on July 27, officials said.
For Class 12 admissions, applicants must have passed Class 11 with the necessary subjects and must also have passed 55% of their Class 10 exams if they wish to be admitted to the science stream and 50% for the business stream. For Humanities, they must have passed their class 10 exams, but if applicants want Economics as a subject, they must have obtained a total of 45%, and if they wish to study Mathematics, they must have obtained at minus 50% in this particular subject.
Students who score 33% in each individual subject as well as overall will be declared to have passed the entrance exam, officials said. Schools will be assigned to applicants based on vacancies, availability of subject combinations at the institution as well as proximity to the student’s residence, they added.
