Entrance test from March 26 to 28; the government publishes guidelines

The Directorate of Education (DoE) has received over 55,000 applications till March 3, Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia has informed.

Admission to Specialized Excellence Schools in Delhi 2022

NEW DELHI: Delhi Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE) entrance test for 2022-23 admission will be held from 26-28 March.

Sharing the list of examination centres, the Delhi government said in an official notification: “All head teachers of the concerned schools as per the list attached to this circular are requested to ensure the smooth running of the scheduled entrance test of schools of excellence specialized in will take place on March 26, 27 and 28, 2022.

The heads of establishments concerned will also ensure the availability of the rooms and staff necessary for the smooth running of the scheduled tests according to the number of candidates allocated to their center, adds the notification.

“Heads of establishments can take the appropriate decision on their side concerning the smooth running of the SOSE entrance test on March 26 and 28, 2022 being working days”, indicates the circular again.

Delhi SoSEs Admission 2022: Eligibility

  • Students studying in government, government-subsidized and recognized schools in Delhi who are also residents of Delhi (with valid residency proof) are eligible to apply for admission to SoSE.
  • At least 50% of students admitted to SoSE will be from government or government-subsidized schools. After qualifying for the aptitude test, students must produce a certificate of success from their previous promotion (Class 8 for admission to Class 9 and Class 10 for admission to Class 11 during the 2021-22 session).
  • Students will be selected through an aptitude test covering mental abilities, math and science.

Honors Excellence Schools are choice-based schools for grades 9-12 that allow students to specialize in their chosen areas of study. SoSEs have been established in 5 subject areas: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities, High End 21st Century Skills, Performing and Visual Arts, and Armed Forces Preparatory School.
