Punjab government orders schools not to raise admission fees this semester; Here’s what netizens have to say

Ahead of the start of the next school year, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday ordered schools in Punjab to impose any increases in admission or tuition fees.

This decision is now attracting reactions from netizens who are tweeting and expressing their opinions about it.

Twitter user @Kshitij wrote, “This is a big move by the Punjab government.”

Similar to the opinion above, Twitter user Rajiv Bajaj commented on the decision saying it would do the common man good.

“Good decision. This decision will be of great help to the common man, who is already reeling from COVID and inflation rising daily,” he wrote.

Contradicting the opinion of Kshitij and Rajiv, one user, who goes by the name of Madhavi Kanwar, expressed concern about other schools.

“What about the schools that bludgeoned all types of fees into school fees (a few years ago) before the Punjab and Haryana High Court judgment? You can ask anyone who which school in Mohali has merged all tuition funds, so they can freely raise tuition fees,” she tweeted.

While the Punjab minister’s decision created polarizing opinions, most netizens acknowledged it.
