The Vernon school system is looking to fill several vacancies

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public School System has scheduled a job fair on Thursday to promote several openings in the local education system, including several “high-level” positions.

The job fair plays Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Rockville High School Library/Media Center, 70 Loveland Hill Road.

The school system has vacancies for several positions, including special education teacher, Spanish teacher, para-educators, speech therapist, transportation and logistics coordinator, director of adult education and school bus driver.

Vernon’s public school system offers “competitive pay and top-notch benefits,” including health insurance and retirement, officials said.

Leaders from the Vernon Public School system will be on hand to answer questions, discuss education career paths and
conduct immediate on-site interviews with those present.

“If you want to work in a great community, with dedicated staff, and to learn and grow as a professional, Vernon
is the place for you,” said Assistant Superintendent of Schools and Director of Human Resources Robert Testa.

While teachers are primarily responsible for the education of students, all employees of the Vernon public school system “play a role
role in the education of the children of Vernon,” said Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary.

“Every member of our team contributes to student success,” Macary said. “Teachers, paras, school bus
drivers, janitors and cafeteria workers help make our award-winning schools safe, welcoming and vibrant
places where students can do their best. Vernon Public Schools is a great place to work because we are
building the future.”
